PERSEPHONE Mining selected by HaDEA to be featured at #RIDaysEU 2025

Our EU-funded project PERSEPHONE Mining has been highlighted in the HaDEA Project Briefs series as an example of innovative research for safer, smarter, and more sustainable mining.

The project develops compact, energy-efficient robots that can autonomously explore deep or abandoned mines. Equipped with sensors and cameras, these robots generate 3D scans of underground environments and create digital twins of mines to support safe and efficient drilling strategies. This approach aims to reduce costs and waste, protect workers, and contribute to Europe’s access to critical raw materials needed for the green transition.
